Injury Accident & Altercation with Officer in Wayne County

Date of News Release: 02/06/2014

(Wayne Co, KY) - On Tuesday February 4th 2014 around 6AM Officer Duffy Sutton with KSP-vehicle enforcement responded to a single vehicle injury accident located on Spring Branch road in rural Wayne County.

Upon arrival and through investigation Officer Sutton learned that 25 year old Keri L. Miller of Somerset was operating a 2000 Ford Explorer when she lost control leaving the road way striking a tree. After learning that the vehicle was not registered to Miller, Officer Sutton went to the residence of the registered owner which was close to the accident scene to further investigate.

Upon arrival to the residence Officer Sutton found the registered owner of the vehicle 56 year old Paul M. McFerron of Jabez Kentucky unresponsive. After a few minutes McFerron became responsive and become irate, belligerent, and reached for a handgun. A short altercation took place and Officer Sutton deployed his TASER until McFerron became compliant.

Keri L. Miller was issued multiple citations including unauthorized use of motor vehicle. Paul M. McFerron was arrested and charged with menacing, resisting arrest, terroristic threatening and Assault 3rd-Police Officer. McFeron was lodged in the Wayne Co Detention Center.

Officer Duffy Sutton continues the investigation.
