Federal Compliance Blitz in Pike County

Date of News Release: 04/12/2013

(PIKEVILLE, KY) -- On Wednesday April 10, 2013, the Kentucky State Police, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement in Pikeville, conducted a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and compliance blitz on commercial vehicles. This focus was to ensure current registration plates, active Insurance, active KYU licenses (Kentucky Fuel Tax) and current IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement), as they apply to commercial vehicles. This enforcement effort was conducted on US119 in the Phelps area of Pike County.

Totals resulting from blitz include 13 Federal Inspections, 85 Citations and 1 D.U.I. 86 Violations which includes, Expired KYU numbers, Expired IFTA licenses, Expired Kentucky Registration Plates, Equipment Violations and Overweight Violations. As a result from all violations, 12 Out Of Service Violations, 6 Commercial Vehicles were place Out of Serice and 6 Impounded.
