Injury Collision on US 460 in Pike County

(REGINA,KY) -- On Tuesday Febuary 12, 2013 Post 09 Pikeville received a 911 call of a three vehicle collision involving a commerical vehicle and two passenger vehicles on US 460 in the Regina community of Pike County.
Preliminary investigation reveals that Alvis R.Hawkins was operating a 1996 red Kenworth tractor trailer when attempting to turn left onto US 23 southbound, Hawkins alledgedly pull in the path of a 2008 Toyota Yaris driven by Philip W. Heffington. The vehicles came to Final rest in the median and southbound lane. Southbound US 23 was shut down for a short amount of time.
Heffington was transported to Pikeville Medical Center for his injuries.
Officer Kevin Belcher, Officer Gary Mullins and Officer Marty Combs were assisted on scene by Floyd County Sheriff Department, Allen Fire Department and Questcare Ambulance Service.
