Injury Collision on US 23 in Floyd County

(HAROLD,KY) -- On Friday February 15, 2013, KSP Post 09, Pikeville received a 911 call of a two vehicle collision involving a commercial vehicle and pickup truck on US 23 in the Harold community of Floyd County.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Clarence E. Hayes was operating a 1997 Green Ford F-150 when he attempted to turn right onto US 23 southbound. Hayes allegedly pull in the path of a 2004 Peterbuilt driven by Glenn T. Hollyfield. Hayes' vehicle came to final rest over the embankment on the Northbound lane. Both Southbound and Northbound lanes remand open during the investigation.
Hayes was transported to Pikeville Medical Center for his injuries.
Sergeant Keith Justice, Trooper John Dixon and Officer Todd Mattingly were assisted on scene by Betsy Layne Fire Department and Trans Star Ambulance Service.
The collision remains under investigation by Officer Todd Mattingly.
