Pursuit of Motorcycles in Clay County
Date of News Release: 02/20/2013
(Manchester, KY) -- On Tuesday February 20th 2013 around 4 P.M. officer Randy Rader with the Kentucky State Police-Vehicle Enforcement attempted to stop two motorcycles on KY638 in Clay County for speeding after he clocked them traveling at 130 MPH in a 55 MPH zone.
Upon attempting to stop the motorcycles an activating emergency lights and siren, the motorcycles began passing other motorist in no passing zones and refused to stop. Rader continued pursuing the offenders for nearly five miles when they pulled into a driveway and attempted to hide at the rear of a residence.
Rader arrested 22 year old William F. Mitchell and 23 year old Josh D. Jarvis both of Manchester Kentucky for Speeding, Fleeing or Evading Police, and Improper Passing.
Assisting in pursuit: Kentucky State Police Trooper Nick Metcalf. Officer Rader continues the investigation.
