C.V.E. Officer makes arrest of armed robbery suspect

Date of News Release: 12/06/2013

(Georgetown, Ky.) - On December 4th, 2013 at approximately 1840hrs, Officer Trevor Wilkins with Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division located a subject (Gerald E. Harrod) who was wanted for armed robbery out of Lexington. Harrod had robbed a pharmacy in Lexington at knife point and stolen prescription pills. Also earlier in the day, Harrod had test drove a vehicle from Collins Auto Sales in Georgetown, Ky. and failed to return the vehicle to the car lot. While units were attempting to locate Harrod, Officer Wilkins received information that Harrod could possibly be present at the Woodford County rest area on I-64. Officer Wilkins responded to the rest area, located Harrod and made an arrest. In Harrod's possession were 194 oxycodones, assorted drug paraphernalia and the stolen vehicle. Harrod received several charges and was transported to the Woodford County Detention Center.
