Kentucky State Police investigate injury collision involving a Commercial Vehicle in Hopkins County

Date of News Release: 03/19/2012

(Madisonville, Ky) -- Officers with Commercial Vehicle Enforcement investigated an injury collision that involved a Commercial Vehicle, which was southbound on Pennyrile Parkway at the 39 mile marker.

Preliminary investigation reveal that on March 18th, 2013 at 3:50 P.M., A 2012 Freightliner semi truck operated by Mr. Samuel Sellers, age 66 of Henderson, Kentucky, was southbound on the Pennyrile Parkway at the 39 mile marker. For reasons that have yet to be determined the semi truck ran off the right side of the parkway and down an earth embankment coming to rest off the right side of the parkway. Mr. Sellers was injured during the collision and taken to Baptist Hospital in Madisonville. Mr. Sellers was later transferred to Saint Mary's Hospital in Evansville, Indiana due to his injuries. Mr. Sellers was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision. Officer J. Hibbs is continuing the investigation and was assisted at the scene by Hopkins County Sheriff's Office, Medical Center Ambulance, and Grape Vine Fire Department.
