Kentucky State Police investigates injury collision on Interstate 24

(Eddyville, Ky) -- The Kentucky State Police investigates a single vehicle injury collision that occurred on Friday, January 25, 2013 at approximately 6: 47 a.m. on Interstate 24 in Lyon County.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Mr. Jackson Charles, age 36 of Kansas City, Missouri and a passenger, Mrs.Ilary Fortune, age 42 also of Kansas City, Missouri were operating a 2012 Ford E-350 Penske moving truck traveling west on Interstate 24. As Mr. Charles was traveling beside a tractor trailer, the tractor trailer began to come over into his lane. Mr. Charles then left the roadway on the left shoulder traveled through the median struck a highway sign and came to rest in the median. Both Mr. Jackson Charles and his passenger refused treatment and transport by Lyon Co. EMS.
The investigation is continuing by Officer Chris Green with the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division.
