CVE Region 5 conducted a MCSAP detail in Maysville, KY

(Morehead, Ky.) --On June 24, 2011 officers from the Kentucky State Police Division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement out of Region 5's Morehead sector conducted a MCSAP detail in Maysville, KY. This detail focused on the roadway of KY 8 in the area of US 62 'Clyde T. Barbour Parkway' due to numerous complaints of speeding commercial vehicles in the area. Over the past few years commercial traffic has increased along KY 8 due to the construction projects at Eastern Kentucky Power. During this detail 13 trucks were inspected resulting in 13 safety violations discovered and 2 trucks placed out of service. A total of 9 weights were checked and 2 citations issued.
