It is the objective of the Kentucky State Police Cadet Training Program to provide the necessary knowledge and skills, which will enable a Cadet to perform those tasks required of a Kentucky State Police Trooper. To this end, intensified academic, vocational, and physical training programs have been developed.

An integral part of police work, and thus the Cadet Training Program, is the establishment of discipline and procedure. As a result, various rules and regulations have been established which ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Cadet Training Program.
