| Through May 23, 2012, preliminary statistics* indicate that 267 people have lost their lives on Kentucky roadways during 2012. This is twenty-nine (29) more fatalities more reported for the same time period in 2011. In the Post Six there has been seventeen (17) motor vehicle fatalities and ten (10) victims were not wearing seat belts and five (5) victims were wearing seat belts, and two (2) victims seat belt was unknown. Three (3) crashes involved a motorcycle and all victims were not wearing a helmet. One (1) crash involved a pedestrian. Six (6) deaths has resulted from crashes involving the suspected use of alcohol. | |||
