KSP Investigates Murder in Bourbon County

Paris, KY - (February 13, 2018) — Kentucky State Police Detectives from Post 6, Dry Ridge, are actively investigating a Domestic Violence Murder of a Bourbon County Woman.

Troopers were requested around 10:40 a.m. to conduct a welfare check on Crystal Kelley, 46 years old, from Paris, KY, at 414 Mt Carmel Rd in Bourbon County. A Trooper with Kentucky State Police was able to identify 2 bodies lying on the floor within the residence. The Trooper then attempted to render aid to both individuals.

Crystal Kelley was identified as one of the individuals shot and was pronounced deceased by the Bourbon County Corner on scene.

Michael Kelley, 50 years old, from Paris, KY, was identified as the second individual shot and was transported to University of Kentucky Hospital.

Through investigation, KSP Detectives charged Michael Kelley with Murder-Domestic Violence.

Kentucky State Police were assisted on scene by Bourbon County Coroner, Bourbon County Sheriff’s Department and Bourbon County EMS.

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Detective Joseph Filiatreau.
