Indiana Woman Charged with Possession of Methamphetamine

Earlington, KY (Hopkins County) – The Kentucky State Police has charged an Indiana woman with possession of methamphetamine.
On Saturday, January 6, 2018 at approximately 7:33 P.M., Trooper Cody Kromer observed a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer operating in a careless manner. Trooper Kromer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, and observed the operator of the vehicle, Sarah Swope, 46, of Elberfeld, IN, to appear under the influence.
During a search of the vehicle, Trooper Kromer discovered drug paraphernalia, multiple pills, and suspected methamphetamine.
Sarah Swope was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center and charged with the following:
1.) Careless Driving
2.) Failure of Non-owner Operator to Maintain Required Ins/Sec, 1st off
4.) Possession of Methamphetamine
5.) Drug Paraphernalia- Buy/Possess
6.) Possession of Drug Unspecified, 3rd Degree
