Kentucky State Police Investigating Shooting in Carlisle County

ARLINGTON, KY (February 1, 2018) – The Kentucky State Police are investigating a shooting which occurred in Carlisle County on Wednesday, just after noon.
Preliminary investigation has shown Robert Ballard and Ronald Williams were involved in an altercation at a residence on Highway 1591. During that altercation, Robert Ballard was shot.
Robert J. Ballard, age 49, of Bardwell, Kentucky was flown from the scene to an area hospital for treatment of injuries he received during the altercation. Mr. Ballard was treated and released.
Ronald E. Williams, age 43, of Bardwell, Kentucky was arrested and charged with First Degree Assault, six counts of First Degree Wanton Endangerment, and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon. Mr. Williams was lodged in the Ballard County Jail.
Richard L. Wright, age 48, of Arlington, Kentucky was arrested and charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence, First Degree Wanton Endangerment, Second Degree Wanton Endangerment, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Wright was lodged in the Ballard County Jail.
