Knott County Woman Dies in Single Car collision

Pine Top, KY.(February 28, 2018) – A Knott County woman was killed Tuesday afternoon following a single car crash in Knott County. First responders were called to the collision site on Highway 582 in the Pine Top community at around 1:45 p.m. Kentucky State Police, Knott County Sheriff’s Office, Tran Star Ambulance and Carr Fork Fire Department all responded to the scene.

The preliminary investigation determined that Christopher Williams, age 31 of Kite, was operating a 1992 Cadillac STS on KY 582, when the car went off the roadway and overturned into a creek. Thirty-eight year old Julie Hall of Kite was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by Knott County Coroner Jeff Blair. Christopher Williams was treated for minor injuries at the scene by EMS, but was not transported to a medical facility. An infant passenger, who was restrained in a child safety seat, was uninjured.

An autopsy was scheduled to take place at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort on Wednesday. Toxicology results on Christopher Williams, which are routinely collected during fatal collision investigations, are pending. This incident remains under the investigation of Detective Scott Caudill with KSP Post 13.
