Dry Ridge, KY - On January 2, 2017 at 11:50 p.m. the Kentucky State Police Post 6 received a call from Paris Police Department reference a strange odor coming from a residence on High Street that they had responded to for an open door. Trooper Patrick Davis responded to the scene and obtained consent to search from the property owner to investigate further. Trooper Davis discovered a corpse in the crawl space area of the duplex. A search warrant was then obtained for the residence. The Bourbon County Coroner responded to the scene and has taken the body for an autopsy later this morning. No positive identification or cause of death have been made at this time. Detective Troy Brooks also responded to the scene. Through Det. Brooks investigation Michael Hutsell (45) of Paris has been arrested and charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence and Abuse of a Corpse, additional charges could follow. Mr. Hutsell is lodged at the Bourbon County Detention Center in Paris. The case remains under investigation by Detective Troy Brooks. KSP was assisted at the scene by Paris Police Department, Bourbon County Sheriff’s Office and the Bourbon County Coroner.
