Fatal Collision in Gallatin County

Campbellsburg, KY (March 5, 2017) – The Kentucky State Police is investigating a two vehicle fatal collision on US 42 in Gallatin County.

On March 4th, 2017 at approximately 3:50 in the afternoon Kentucky State Police at Post 5 Campbellsburg received a call from Gallatin County dispatch requesting assistance with a fatal traffic collision on US 42 east of Warsaw.

Preliminary investigation found that a vehicle operated by Kyle Allbecker, 20 of Cincinnati OH, was traveling east approximately 2 miles outside of Warsaw when he lost control and crossed into the opposing lane.

A vehicle operated by Joey Slone, 52 of Union KY, was travelling west and the two vehicles struck head on. Allbecker, a 16 year old female passenger, and a 15 year old male passenger were not wearing seat belts. Allbecker was partially ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Gallatin County Coroner. The 16 year old female passenger was also pronounced deceased at the scene and the 15 year old male passenger was flown to University of Cincinnati Hospital with serious injuries.

Joey Slone was flown to University of Cincinnati Hospital for his injuries and Tonia Slone was treated at the scene.

The collision remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police who were assisted on scene by Gallatin County EMS, Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office, Gallatin County Coroner’s Office, and Air Methods.
