Two Dead After Meade Co. Collision

Brandenburg, KY - Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown worked a double fatality collision in the area of KY 1239 and Sirocco Rd. in Meade Co. on Wednesday evening. On February 8, 2017 at approximately 6:50 P.M. EDST, Randi Copher (30) of Cloverport was traveling South with her two juvenile children (1,3) in a 2003 Honda Civic on Midway Rd. Brenton K. Ross (37) of Brandenburg was traveling North on Midway Rd. in a 1988 Toyota 4Runner. For unknown reasons the Honda driven by Ms. Copher went into a spin and crossed the center line causing the vehicles to collide in the North bound lane. The one year old juvenile was pronounced dead at the scene by the Meade Co. Coroner’s Office. Randi Copher and the three year old juvenile were transported to the Harrison Co. Indiana Hospital where the three year old juvenile was later pronounced dead. Randi Copher was later transported to the University Of Louisville Hospital where she remains in stable condition. Brenton Ross was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown with non-life threatening injuries. Both drivers submitted to the standard blood tests and toxicology is pending. The accident is still under investigation by KSP Trooper/Reconstructionist Brandon Brooks. KSP was assisted on the scene by the Meade Co. Sheriff’s Office, Meade Co. EMS, and the Meade Co. Coroner’s Office.
