Beech Creek Man arrested on Trafficking Charges

Beech Creek, Ky. (Muhlenberg County) – The Kentucky State Police has charged a Beech Creek man with trafficking in a controlled substance and other related charges.
On December 23, 2017, at approximately 8:00 PM, Trooper Cornett assisted the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic stop on Merle Travis Highway between Beechmont and Beech Creek, KY. The traffic stop was initiated on a green 2001 GMC Sierra for inadequate muffler and rear license plate not legible.
Operating the vehicle was 50 year old Michael Moore of Beech Creek, KY. During the stop, Trooper Cornett and Deputies discovered several controlled substances which Moore was attempting to discard.
Moore was arrested and lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center and charged with the following:
Charge 1: LICENSE PLATE NOT LEGIBLE
Charge 2: INADEQUATE SILENCER (MUFFLER)
Charge 3: DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
Charge 4: TRAFF IN CONT SUB, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFF (DRUG UNSPECIFIED)
Charge 5: POSS CONT SUB 1ST DEG, 1ST OFF (METHAMPHETAMINE)
Charge 6: ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF LEGEND DRUG
Charge 7: POSS CONT SUB, 3RD DEGREE (DRUG UNSPECIFIED)
Charge 8: TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE
Charge 9: PRESCRIPTION CONT SUB NOT IN PROP CONTAIN 2ND >OFF
Kentucky State Police was assisted on-scene by the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office.
