KSP Charges Illinois Man after Pursuit

Oak Grove, KY.(August 19, 2017) – The Kentucky State Police has charged an Illinois man after he attempted to flee and evade Troopers during a traffic stop.
On Saturday, August 19th at approximately 3:54 p.m. Trooper Michael A. Dennis stopped a vehicle for reckless driving after observing the vehicle driving over the white line and crossing the center line several times. Trooper Dennis initiated his emergency equipment to signal a traffic stop. When Trooper Dennis approached the vehicle the driver then fled the traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle Bradley W. Broederdorf, of Illinois continued to travel east on I-24 before exiting at the 86MM. The pursuit continued into Oak Grove on US41A and the operator turned onto Auburn Street. Broederdorf made a U-Turn in a motel parking lot and then got back onto US41A heading north where he struck a 2013 White Buick Encore driven by Kim Taylor of Morrison Tennessee. Taylor was not injured. Broederdorf’s vehicle then got onto the westbound on-ramp to I-24 heading west. The vehicle continued west on I-24 before exiting onto the Pennyrile Parkway northbound. The pursuit ended when the operator pulled onto the right shoulder of the roadway heading south after he made a U-turn in the median. Broederdorf was taken into custody without further incident and lodged in the Christian County Detention Center on the following charges:
- Speeding 26 Over
- Fleeing/Evading Police 1st (Motor Vehicle)
- Wanton Endangerment 1st Police Officer, 2 Counts
- Wanton Endangerment 1st 2 Counts
- Leaving the Scene of an Accident
- Criminal Mischief 1st
- Possession of Open Alcoholic Container in a Motor Vehicle
- Driving Under the Influence 1st Offence, Aggravated
- Operating on Suspended Operators License
- No other State Registration
- No Insurance
The Kentucky State Police were assisted in the pursuit by the Christian County Sheriff Office.
