Inmate Escapes From Ohio County Jail

UPDATE(August 9, 2017) -- Kentucky State Police troopers from both Post 16-Henderson and Post 2-Madisonville along with the US Marshals Service has located and arrested Arnold Ray McKenney, 48, at a residence in the Anton, KY area of Hopkins County.
He is currently being transported by troopers to the Ohio County Detention Center in Hartford where he will be charged with Escape 2nd Degree.
HARTFORD, Ky. (July 30, 2017) – Kentucky State Police troopers were notified by officials at the Ohio County Detention Center of an escaped inmate. The preliminary investigation reveals 48 year-old Arnold Ray McKenney of Cromwell, KY was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center in Hartford for various charges including Rape and Sodomy 1st. He was authorized to be in the kitchen and assigned wash detail (dishes). Around 8pm, McKenney was able to escaped through a locked door. Investigators believe the magnetic locking mechanism was faulty by allowing the door to open if enough pressure was applied.
