KSP Investigate Single Vehicle Fatal Collision on KY-91

Princeton(April 25, 2017) – The Kentucky State Police are investigating a single vehicle collision that resulted in fatal injuries on KY-293 approximately three miles south of Princeton.

Preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 1:45 p.m., Betty J. Kilgore, 78, was operating a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer northbound when, for unknown reasons, she drove off of the right side of the roadway. The vehicle entered a ditch, struck a culvert, and overturned. Mrs. Kilgore was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Caldwell County Coroner. Mrs. Kilgore was wearing a seatbelt. The front seat passenger, Francis L. Kilgore, 78, was transported to Caldwell County Medical Center by Caldwell County EMS where he is listed in stable condition. Mr. Kilgore was not wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol or drugs were not suspected as a factor in the collision. listed in stable condition. Harvey has been subsequently transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville for further treatment of his injuries.

The collision is under investigation by Trooper Ben Sawyer. Trooper Sawyer was assisted at the scene by Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department, Princeton Fire Department, Caldwell County EMS, Lyon County Sheriff’s Department.
