TBUT OR DISP / SHOPLIFTING OVER $500 - UNDER $10,000

Hartford, KY. (July 29th, 2017) - Kentucky State Police conducted a pre-approved traffic safety checkpoint in Hartford. While executing the checkpoint, Troopers came into contact with Anthony A. Phelps, 36, of Morgantown. Through investigation, Troopers discovered that Phelps had an active warrant for his arrest out of Butler County. Phelps was also found to be in possession of a large amount of stolen items as well as multiple controlled substances. Phelps was arrested and charged with TBUT or Disp. – Shoplifting over $500 – under $10,000, Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree – Drug Unspecified, Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree – Drug Unspecified, and Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess. Phelps was transported to and lodged into the Ohio County Detention Center.
