KSP Arrests Breathitt County Man After Stabbing Incident

Jackson, KY (March, 24, 2017) – A Breathitt County man was injured during an altercation in Jackson late Tuesday evening. Troopers Mike Wolfe and Steve Thomas with Kentucky State Police Post 13, responded to a fight complaint on Shucky Bean Hollow just before 11:30 p.m., on March 21. At the scene, they located two men who had been involved in an altercation
The preliminary investigation of this incident determined that individuals in the area of this occurrence had observed a male subject walking around a house that Preston Morris had been renting. Morris arrived at the scene and confronted Dustin Jones about his being at this residence. A physical altercation ensued, and during the struggle, Preston Morris received a severe laceration to his face. Preston Morris, 34 of Jackson, was transported to Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson for treatment of his injuries. He was later transferred to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for further medical attention.
Dustin Jones, age 33 of Jackson, was charged with Assault 2nd Degree. He was arrested at the scene and transported to the Three Forks Regional Jail, where he remains lodged. Tpr. Wolfe is continuing this investigation.
