Human remains located in Knox County

Hinkle, KY. (June 11, 2017) On June 11, 2017 at approximately 8:08 a.m. Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Harlan received a call from the Knox County 911 Dispatch Center regarding the discovery of human remains. Trooper Jon Corey was dispatched to the location and discovered that Christopher Bolton had located partial remains on his property on Ky 1304 in the Hinkle community of Knox County. KSP Post 10 then dispatched Detective Josh Howard, Detective Jake Wilson, and Sgt. Danny Caudill to the scene. A short time later the Knox County Search and Rescue Team were also requested to assist KSP with searching the area. After a short search, more human remains were located and the Knox County Coroner was notified. The remains have been gathered and will be sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort for an autopsy and identification. Detective Jake Wilson is continuing this investigation.
At this time the identification and cause of death has not been determined. KSP will release more information regarding identification and cause of death as it becomes available tomorrow afternoon upon completion of the autopsy.
