Pikeville, Ky. (September 23, 2016) - Kentucky State Police Captain, Jennifer Sandlin, received her promotional certificate from KSP Commissioner Rick Sanders (right) and John Grate, deputy secretary of the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet (left), on Sept. 16, 2016. Captain Sandlin was named Post Commander of Pikeville Post on September 1, 2016. A 13-year veteran of the agency, Sandlin is a resident of Hazard. She is the daughter of Donald and Diana Colwell of Hazard. Captain Sandlin began her career as a trooper in Pike County. She has held the rank of Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Investigations Lieutenant, and Operations Lieutenant at Post 9. "I have spent the majority of my career with KSP at Pikeville Post," stated Sandlin. "I look forward to continuing my career here as the post commander. The people in the Post 9 area have always shown support for the agency, and I look forward to serving them."
