Inmate Walks Away From Work Release

Campton, Ky. (October 28th, 2016) - Kentucky State Police in Morehead is currently investigating the escape of a Three Forks Regional Detention Center inmate. At around 07:30 A.M. on Friday, October 28, 2016, Kentucky State Police responded to the Campton area to investigate the walk-off of inmate Billy Shepherd, who had walked away from a work release detail that he was assigned. Mr. Shepherd had been incarcerated at Three Forks Regional Detention Center in Lee County and had been assigned to a work release detail in Wolfe County. During the course of the day Mr. Shepherd fled the area and at this time he has not been located. Billy Shepherd, 42, is a white male, 5'7", 140 lbs. with brown hair, and blue eyes. Mr. Shepherd is believed to be in the Wolfe or Magoffin County area. Anyone with information regarding Shepherd's whereabouts are asked contact Kentucky State Police in Morehead.
