KSP Investigating Two Vehicle Fatal Collision in Powell County

Stanton, Ky. (September 26, 2016) - On Monday September 26, 2016 at 7:29 p.m., Kentucky State Police Post 8 Morehead received information about a two vehicle collision at the 22 mile marker on the Mountain Parkway in Powell County.
Trooper Michael Snowden responded to the scene. Upon arrival it was determined that Martricia Willis, 40, of Jackson was traveling west on the Mountain Parkway when she struck a vehicle driven by Xylina Barnett, 28, of Clay City also traveling in the westbound lane. Ms. Barnett's passenger James R Gilliam, 30, of Clay City was pronounced dead at the scene. Ms. Barnett was transported to Clark Regional for treatment.
Ms. Willis and passengers Gerry Willis, 42, of Booneville and two juveniles were also taken to Clark Regional for treatment. Both Willises and one juvenile were transported on to the University of Kentucky Medical Center and are listed in stable condition. The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Snowden.
