Injury Collision on KY 650 in Morgan County

(West Liberty, KY) - On Friday, February 19, 2016 at 8:41a.m. the Kentucky State Police in Morehead along with Morgan County Sheriff's Office, Morgan County EMS, and Morgan County Fire & Rescue responded to a single vehicle injury collision on KY 172, near the junction of KY 650. Jason Boggs, 38, of West Liberty, was operating a 1999 Chevy S10 west bound on KY 172 when the vehicle encountered a patch of ice on the roadway, causing Mr. Boggs to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle then exited the roadway and over an embankment, coming to final rest on its top in Elk Fork Creek. Mr. Boggs was transported from the scene to Morgan ARH, where he was later transported to UK Medical Center for further treatment. Mr. Boggs is listed in critical condition. The seatbelt was not believed to be in use at the time of the accident. The collision remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police in Morehead.
