KSP Investigates Escape from Transition Treatment Center

(Dry Ridge, KY) - On Sunday, January 24, 2016, the Kentucky State Police received a call from Transitions Treatment Center in Covington, KY. They advised that Joseph Edwin Smith had walked away from the facility at approximately 4:43 p.m. He was last seen wearing a grey and red shirt, grey sweatpants and a black hoodie. Mr. Smith's last known address was in Louisville, KY., but also has prior address in Grant County KY. Joseph Smith has tattoos on his left arm of skulls and two guns, on his right arm he has a dragon and the initials "SEJ". He also has "white pride" on both right and left upper arms. Mr. Smith (32) is five foot six inches tall with brown hair, hazel colored eyes and weighs 180 pounds. He was in jail for drug related charges. Anyone with information of the location of Joseph Smith are asked to contact the Kentucky State Police or their local police agency. Trooper Chris Arnett is the investigating Trooper on this case.
