One Killed in Henry County Crash

(Campbellsburg, KY) – One person was killed and another critically wounded in the morning hours of Tuesday April 12th, in a two vehicle collision on Interstate 71 in Henry County.
Kentucky State Police dispatchers received a call at approximately 4:00 Tuesday morning of a two vehicle collision on I-71 at the 35 mile marker Southbound. Preliminary investigation shows a vehicle operated by Jordan Mefford, 23 of Carrollton, was travelling South on I-71 when a tractor trailer travelling North crossed the median and struck Mefford head on. Mefford was transported by Air Methods to University of Louisville Hospital. A passenger in the vehicle, Jacqueline Hayes 26 of Louisville, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Henry County Coroner. The driver of the tractor trailer was transported to University of Louisville Hospital by Henry County EMS.
Kentucky State Police is leading the ongoing investigation and reconstruction along with assistance from Henry County EMS, Henry County Coroner's Office, Campbellsburg Fire Department and Air Methods.
