Date of News Release: 09/19/2016
Oakland, KY (September 19 2016) - The Kentucky State Police responded to a report of a vehicle versus a pedestrian collision last night at approx. 6:51 pm on the northbound Oakland exit ramp off of Interstate 65 at the US 68-80 intersection in Warren County.
The preliminary investigation indicated that Michael Dawson (35) of Bowling Green and his wife Kristin Dawson (34) became involved in a domestic while traveling north on Interstate 65 where they ended up pulling off the northbound exit ramp at Oakland. The couple were then involved in an altercation in the grassy area just off the ramp where the male subject got back into the vehicle and pulled away. At this point the female was dragged by the vehicle and was thrown to the ground where she sustained serious injuries.
Mrs. Dawson was transported by the Medical Center EMS to a nearby location where she was flown by AirEvac to the TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of her injuries.
During the investigation is was also determined that there was an active Kentucky Domestic Violence Order involving both parties and it is believed that alcohol is also a factor with both. There were also four children (Ages 11, 5, 4, & 3) in the vehicle at the time of the incident, who subsequently were released to Social Services.
Michael Dawson was arrested and lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail where he was charged with:
