Date of News Release: 04/14/2016

(Bowling Green, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to a three vehicle injury collision today near the 9 mile marker on the William Natcher Parkway in Warren County that occurred at approx. 7:44 am.

The preliminary investigation indicated that Christina Wheeler (29) of Bowling Green was operating a 2013 GMC SUV and was traveling southbound on the William Natcher Parkway where she advised she was distracted and failed to see another southbound vehicle that had just merged onto the parkway. Wheeler struck the rear of a 2006 Pontiac passenger car driven by Blanca Ray (33) of Bowling Green, causing Ray to go off the right side of the roadway and strike an embankment. Wheeler's SUV went into the median where it overturned multiple times and went into the northbound lanes where she struck the driver's side of a northbound 2004 Nissan pickup being operated by Shannon Donovan (33) of Scottsville.

Ms. Ray was transported from the scene by the Medical Center EMS to the Medical Center of Bowling Green for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Mr. Donovan was not injured in the collision, nor was Ms. Wheeler or her juvenile passenger.

The investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by Trooper Tomie Walters. He was assisted on the scene Lieutenant Tim Adams, Detective Adam Morgan, the Medical Center EMS, and Woodburn Fire Department.
