Motorcycle Collision Results in Fatal in Horse Cave

(Horse Cave, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to a single vehicle injury collision involving a motorcycle today at approx. 1:32 pm in the 300 block of West Main Street in the limits of Horse Cave that resulted in the death of one person.
The preliminary investigation indicated that David Boyd (59) of Horse Cave was operating a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on KY 218 when he approached the intersection of KY 355 where he failed to negotiate a left hand curve. He went off the right side of the roadway and struck a curb and then an unoccupied vehicle. Boyd was ejected from the motorcycle and struck another unoccupied vehicle.
Mr. Boyd was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hart County Coroner's Office. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision and alcohol is believed to be a factor.
The investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by Trooper Randy Chambers. He was assisted on the scene by Trooper Justin Rountree, KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Horse Cave Police Department, Hart County EMS, Hart County Coroner's Office, and the Horse Cave Fire Department. No other details are available for release at this time.
