Injury Collision on Interstate 65 Ramp Involving Overturned Log Truck

Date of News Release: 01/04/20165

(Glasgow, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to a single vehicle injury collision today on the ramp from the William Natcher Parkway southbound to Interstate 65 northbound in Warren County that occurred at approx. 7:25 am involving a tractor trailer hauling logs that overturned.

The preliminary investigation indicated that Ronda Bertsche (48) of Paris, TN was operating a 2014 Freightliner tractor trailer log truck traveling on the ramp from southbound William Natcher Parkway to Interstate 65 northbound when she stated the load shifted in the curve and caused her to lose control. She failed to negotiate the curve where the truck then overturned and dumped the logs onto the roadway, blocking the ramp for approx. 3 hours.

Bertsche was transported from the scene by the Medical Center EMS to the Medical Center of Bowling Green for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by Trooper Tomie Walters. He was assisted on the scene by KSP Commercial Enforcement Officers, the Medical Center EMS, Alvaton Fire Department, and the KY Transportation Cabinet Safe Patrol.
