Paducah, KY. (June 21, 2016) - The Chin Restaurant located in Paducah, KY has donated $775 to the Kentucky State Police Professional Association (KSPPA) District 1 'Shop with a Trooper' program.
Over the course of two days, June 6, 2016 and June 8, 2016 the Chin Restaurant donated 10% of its sales to the Shop with a Trooper program in honor of Fallen Trooper Eric K. Chrisman and Trooper Joseph 'Cameron' Ponder. This donation coincided with local memorials honoring these fallen heroes.
Kentucky State Police Professional Association (KSPPA) District 1 conducts its annual "Shop with a Trooper" (S.W.AT.) program every December. This program is designed to assist children in need during the Christmas season. Each year troopers, dispatcher, and community volunteers assist children with their holiday shopping at the Wal-Mart in Mayfield. The children's shopping lists usually consist of several necessary items including coats, pants, shirts, shoes, hats, gloves, and toys.
Donations like the one made by Chin Restaurant help to pay for this annual shopping trip for these children.
If you would like to donate please contact KSPPA Representatives Debbie Craven or Gary Fraser. They may be reached at the Kentucky State Police Post 1 located in Mayfield, Kentucky or by calling 270-856-3721.
