Felony Arrest After Traffic Stop in Owensboro, KY

Owensboro, KY. (June 5, 2016) - Trooper Clemons with the Kentucky State Police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle 5 miles south of Owensboro on US HWY 231. During the stop, it was determined that the passenger in the vehicle, 35 year old Jason Eyster from Utica, was wanted out of Daviess County. When Mr. Eyster was notified he was under arrest, he attempted to flee on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, Mr. Eyster was apprehended and taken into custody without further incident. Mr. Eyster was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 3rd Offense-Methamphetamine, Fleeing or Evading Police on Foot, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Marijuana, Failure to Wear Seat Belt, and Execution of Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear.
