Assault 1st Degree investigation in Franklin County

(Frankfort, KY) - On Thursday February 4, 2016 at approximately 12:30 AM, Kentucky State Police, Post 12 Frankfort received a request from Franklin County Sheriff's Department to assist with a Domestic Dispute on Flat Creek Road, Frankfort, KY.
A female sought help from Franklin County Fire Station 6 for 2nd degree burns she had received during an altercation with Gayle Abrams, age 53. Kentucky State Police and the Franklin County Sheriff Deputies responded to the scene of the dispute but did not locate the accused, Gayle Abrams. Lexington Metro Aircraft was contacted and responded with their helicopter in an attempt to locate Gayle Abrams.
After a thorough search Gayle Abrams was not located. Gayle Abrams later turned himself into the Franklin County Sheriff's Office where a Trooper took him into custody.
Gayle Abrams has been charged with Assault 1st (Domestic Violence), Unlawful Imprisonment 1st, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon.
The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police Post 12.
