UPDATE: Murder Arrest Made in Harlan County

(Cawood, Ky.) - On March 22, 2016 at approximately 11:45 p.m., KSP Detective Kevin Miller charged Michael Curtis, 27, of Cawood with murder, tampering with physical evidence, and abuse of a corpse. At this time the victim's information cannot be released until the State Medical Examiner's Office makes a positive identification of the remains. Detectives from Post 10 have received enough information to believe this case is involving a missing person's case from Post 10 Harlan. Case is still under investigation by Det. Kevin Miller.

Possible Human Remains Located in Harlan County

(Cawood, Ky.) - On March 22, 2016, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan received information about possible human remains located in a wooded area off of Mountain Oaks Subdivision, which is located near the Cawood community in Harlan County.
At this time, Troopers, Detective's, and the Harlan County Coroner are processing the scene.
