Date of News Release: 09/22/2015

(Regina, KY) - Kentucky State Police, Pikeville Post, is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Pike County during the morning hours of September 22, 2015.

The initial investigation indicates that Kennenna Mullins, 43 years old of Lick Creek, Kentucky, was traveling on US Highway 460 in the Regina Belcher area of Pike County. While driving west in her 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, Mullins' vehicle was struck head on by a 2000 Nissan Xterra that was traveling east. Mullins was pronounced deceased at the scene by Pike County Coroner Denver Bailey. Evidence at the scene indicates Mullins was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the collision, and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 09 Accident Reconstructionist Detective Jason Merlo.
