Third Johnson County Flood Victim Confirmed Deceased

(Flat Gap, KY) - Kentucky State Police, Post 09 Pikeville, can confirm an additional victim has been located by the incident Search and Rescue Team.

In the late afternoon hours of July 15, 2015, the search team was canvassing the area approximately one mile north of Stapleton Drive along KY route 172. A member of the search team searching the area discovered what was believed to be the deceased body of an adult male. Detectives from Kentucky State Police, Post 09 responded to the scene and were able to identify the male as one of the missing persons from an active case currently being investigated by Post 09 Detectives. Johnson County Coroner J.R Frisby responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the recovery scene.

The most recent recovery of the adult male leaves only one person listed as missing in regards to the flooding situation.

More information and details regarding this incident, and the updated status of the rescue efforts in Johnson County, will be released during the scheduled press conference on July 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Johnson Central High School.
