KSP Assault First Arrest/Shooting Investigation

(Pine Ridge, KY) - On November 8, 2015 at 1159 p.m. the Kentucky State Police was contacted by Wolfe County Dispatch in reference to a shooting incident on Hoss Cat Lane in the Pine Ridge community of Wolfe County.
Upon arrival at the scene it was determined that Preston S. Wilson (26) of Campton shot David M. Spencer (42) at his residence on Hoss Cat Lane. Spencer was able to flee the scene and drive his vehicle to the Campton Shell Mart to call Wolfe County Dispatch. Spencer was later airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
KSP also is investigating another shooting on Hoss Cat Lane. David L. Spencer (63) of Campton was shot in his residence on Hoss Cat Lane and was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Brenda Hatton (53) of Campton was also shot in the residence and died from the result of her injuries. Hatton was pronounced deceased by Wolfe County Coroner Frankie Porter.
Preston Wilson was later located and arrested at the Hazard ARH Medical Center without incident. Wilson was charged with one count of Assault First Degree and transported to the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard. The incidents remain under investigation by Detective Virgil Rucker.
