Fatal Collision on US 60

(Bath, KY) -- On Friday, October 2, 2015 at 12:36 p.m. the Kentucky State Police Post 8 Morehead received a report of a single vehicle accident on US 60 near the Bath/Montgomery county line. Trooper Jason Brown, Trooper Scott Ferrell, Trooper Todd Coleman, Bath County EMS and Bath County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene. After investigation, It was determined that William Key, 64, of Sharpsburg was operating his 1997 Jeep westbound on US60, when his vehicle left the roadway. Mr. Key's vehicle struck a plank fence and came to final rest. Mr. Key was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two other passengers were in the vehicle, Diana Day, 64 of Sharpsburg and Kirstie Vice, 39, of Sharpsburg. Diana Day was transported to St Joseph Hospital in Mount Sterling and then transferred to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, where she was later pronounced deceased. Kirstie Vice refused medical treatment at the scene and was released. The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Jason Brown.
