Fatal Traffic Collision on KY 519

(Morgan, KY) - On Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 7:45 am Kentucky State Police was contacted by CVE Officer Combs of an injury accident on KY 519 near Pleasant Run Road in Morgan County. Upon arrival Officer Combs advised one of the vehicles were on fire and both subjects were trapped in their vehicles. Trooper Keith Howard, Unit 523, Trooper Royce Collett, Unit 391, Morgan County Fire and Rescue and Morgan County EMS responded to the scene. Noah Cox, 18 of West Liberty, KY was operating his 1999 Pontiac GrandPrix North bound on KY 519 when he crossed into the South bound lane and struck a 1994 GMC Jimmy being operated by Toby Hunley, 37 of West Liberty, KY. Mr. Cox's vehicle came to final rest in the rest in the south bound lane and Mr. Hunley's vehicle came to final rest on the south bound shoulder of the roadway. Mr. Hunley was transported to Saint Claire Medical Center and was pronounced deceased at 10:14 am. Mr. Cox was airlifted to Cabell/Huntington Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. Collision remains under investigation by Trooper Royce Collett.
