One Killed in a Collision on Interstate 64 in Rowan County

(Morehead, KY) - On Thursday, January 15th, 2015 at 5:05 P.M., Kentucky State Police in Morehead received a call in reference to a vehicle accident on Interstate 64, east of Morehead, near the 143 mile post. Troopers from Kentucky State Police, KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Rowan County EMS and Morehead Fire Department responded to the scene. Michael Henderson, 27 years of age, from Kodak TN, was operating a 2007 Ford Explorer west bound on Interstate 64 when he lost control of his vehicle causing it to roll over an embankment. Michael Henderson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt. Deanna Henderson, 63 years of age, from Huntington WV, was transported from the scene to St. Claire and then transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital. Three juveniles were also transported from the scene to St. Claire and then transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital. No drugs or alcohol are believed to have been a factor. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Bryantt Furman.
