One Killed in a Collision on KY32 in Rowan County

(Morehead, KY) - On Sunday January 11th, 2015 KSP Post 8 Morehead received a called from Morehead 911 requesting assistance on the scene of a fatal accident. Trooper Bryantt Furman and Sgt. Eugene Robinson responded to the scene along with Elliottville Fire, Rowan County EMS and the Rowan County's Sheriff's Department. Upon arrival it was determined that the operator of the 2002 Ford Explorer, Eric Gallagher, had been traveling eastbound on KY32 Christy Creek. The operator attempted to negotiate a curve but due to the high speed of the vehicle he lost control and traveled off the left side of the roadway and flipped several times before coming to a final rest on KY32. The operator was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene by Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt. The two passengers in the vehicle were transported to St. Claire Regional Medical Center and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Both passengers, Jason Hall and Jarvis Dehart, were charged with public intoxication, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree and 1st offense and possession of drug paraphernalia. The accident is under investigation by Trooper Bryantt Furman.
