Update (Arrest Made) - KSP Investigates Escaped Inmate in Jessamine County

(Nicholasville, KY) - The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is no longer looking for a man accused of walking away from a Jessamine County Detention Center work detail this afternoon. According to the Jessamine County Sheriff's Office, Chad L. Dodson, 25 years old of Payneville, was located just before 8:00 pm tonight. Dodson is back at the Jessamine County Detention Center charged with Escape 2nd Degree.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Trooper Chris Damron.

KSP Investigates Escaped Inmate in Jessamine County

(Nicholasville, KY) - The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is looking for an inmate that walked away from a work detail in Jessamine County at approximately 12:45 pm today.

The initial investigation alleges that Chad L. Dodson, 25 years old of Payneville, KY, walked away from a Jessamine County Detention Center work detail on Highway 27, just south of Nicholasville. Several agencies including KSP, Jessamine County Sheriff's Office, and the Lexington Metro Police Department responded to the area and conducted a search, but were unable to locate Dodson. Dodson was last seen wearing a Carhartt hooded jacket, orange shirt, blue pants, and an orange vest. He is described as being approximately 5' 6" tall, weighing 175 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Dodson was in jail serving a sentence for Theft by Unlawful Taking.
