One Killed in Henry County Crash

(Campbellsburg, KY) - One person was killed today (5/24) in a crash at the 35 mile marker on I-71 in Henry County. Kentucky State Police dispatchers received a call of the crash at 1:45 p.m. Preliminary investigation shows that John Hoffman, 73 of Pendleton KY, was the passenger in a vehicle traveling North on I-71 in Henry County. The operator of the vehicle lost control and overturned in the median causing Hoffman to be ejected from the vehicle. Hoffman was later pronounced dead by the Henry County Coroner. Hoffman was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Trooper Jim Phelps is leading the ongoing investigation and reconstruction. Trooper Phelps was assisted at the scene by Troopers, Stucker, Hunter, Sudduth, Sergeant Gibson, Campbellsburg Fire Department, and Henry and Carroll County EMS.
