KSP Investigating Officer Involved Shooting in Grayson County

(LEITCHFIELD, KY.) - nvestigators from Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown are currently investigating an officer involved shooting in Grayson Co. On Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at approximately 2:00 EDST, Grayson Co. Sheriff Norman Chaffins and Grayson Co. S.O. Major Corey Knochel responded to a report of a domestic disturbance with a shot fired at a residence located at 4099 Saint Paul Rd. in Leitchfield. When they arrived they were met in the driveway by Chris E. Higdon (66) advancing toward them with a firearm. Sheriff Chaffins fired his weapon three times striking the suspect. He was later pronounced dead at the scene by the Grayson Co. Coroner. The incident is still under investigation by KSP Post 4.

KSP Investigating Officer Involved Shooting in Grayson County

(LEITCHFIELD, KY.) - Investigators from Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown are currently investigating an officer involved shooting in Grayson Co. Around 2:00 EDST two Sheriff's units from the Grayson Co Sheriff's Dept. responded to a report of a domestic disturbance with a shot fired at a residence on Saint Paul Rd. in Leitchfield. When they arrived they were met in the driveway by a male suspect with a firearm advancing toward them. One of the responding Sheriff's units fired his weapon multiple times striking the suspect and he was later pronounced dead. No other information can be released at this time. The investigation is in preliminary stages and we will release names and updates tomorrow when we have generated more information through investigation and notifications have been made to family members.
