Injury Collision on I-65 Involving a Vehicle Versus a Tractor Trailer

(Smiths Grove, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to a report of an injury collision involving a vehicle versus a tractor trailer on Friday, November 6, 2015 at approx. 7:47 am on Interstate 65 at the 43 MM southbound.

The preliminary investigation indicated that Lindsey Bowles (27) of Glasgow was operating a 2004 Nissan SUV and was ramping onto I-65 southbound from the Louie B Nunn Parkway when she lost control of her vehicle and spun into the pathway of a southbound tractor trailer. The drivers side of her vehicle was struck by a 2015 Freightliner tractor trailer that was driven by Carl Shircliff (45) of Corydon, IN.

Bowles was transported from the scene by the Medical Center EMS to the Medical Center in Bowling Green for her injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing and being led by Trooper Ben Whitlock. He was assisted on the scene by Troopers Mike Hatler and Graham Rutherford, KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Casey Tooley, and the Smiths Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
